Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based tool that trains individuals how to uncover and access their most valuable inner resources. In doing so, the individual strengthens their ability to think and act in any situation with qualities of:
Confidence, Clarity, Courage, Creativity, Compassion, Calm, Connectedness, & Curiosity
With this increased leadership capacity, an individual can better respond to pressure, communicate more effectively, skillfully navigate conflict, and identify creative solutions that will propel them and their team toward their goals.
Business and government professionals who are seeking to strengthen their leadership capacity and resilience are invited to enroll in the Professional Self-Leadership program.
This year-long program includes four quarterly units focused on:
(1) Executive presence & communication
(2) Emotional intelligence & conflict resolution
(3) Decision-making & change management
(4) Peak performance & innovation
Each unit includes twelve 90-minute leadership coaching sessions using IFS.
Through these one-on-one sessions over Zoom, the participant will receive personalized support and training to release inner constraints and transform cognitive, emotional, and behavioral obstacles into resources for enhancing leadership capacity and achieving professional goals.
By completing all four units, participants receive a Certificate of Completion in Professional Self-Leadership
Program details (including topics, length, and session frequency) may be customized upon request.
Outcome: Participants will cultivate an understanding of their "Self" leadership qualities and how to embody them in professional settings. They will learn to lead from a place of authenticity, enhancing their executive presence by showcasing qualities like confidence, clarity, and compassion, which are hallmarks of the Self in IFS.
Outcome: Participants will develop skills to identify and manage their internal parts that might undermine or enhance their executive presence. They will practice techniques to ensure these parts work harmoniously, allowing for a consistent and impactful leadership style that resonates with authenticity and resilience.
Outcome: Participants will learn to communicate with greater effectiveness by understanding how different internal parts influence their communication style. They will apply IFS-informed methods to engage in clear, confident, and empathetic communication, thereby strengthening their presence in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
Outcome: Participants will enhance their self-awareness by learning to identify and understand how their parts influence their emotional responses and leadership style, particularly in response to conflict. By understanding how these parts influence their behavior, leaders can manage their reactions more effectively, leading to more constructive conflict resolution.
Outcome: Participants will develop techniques for emotional regulation by learning how to manage their parts, especially in stressful or conflict-laden situations. They will apply IFS strategies to calm reactive parts and lead from the "Self", promoting resilience and the ability to handle emotional challenges with grace, thus maintaining high emotional intelligence even under pressure.
Outcome: Participants will cultivate emotional intelligence by understanding the multiplicity within themselves and others. They’ll learn to perceive and interact with the parts of coworkers, leading to more empathetic and effective relationship management. This outcome aims at fostering an environment where leaders can respond to others' emotional states with compassion and understanding, enhancing team dynamics and leadership impact.
Outcome: Participants will gain proficiency in recognizing and integrating their internal parts to make balanced, high-quality decisions. This includes understanding how different parts might push for or against certain decisions, learning to navigate internal conflicts for optimal outcomes, thereby promoting a leadership style that is both thoughtful and decisive.
Outcome: Participants will develop strategies for enhancing clarity, particularly in high-pressure decision-making scenarios. By understanding and soothing reactive parts, participants will enhance their ability to remain calm, collected, and clear-headed, leading to more rational, considered, and effective decisions.
Outcome: Participants will cultivate a deeper understanding of their internal systems to lead with self-awareness during times of organizational change. They will learn how to manage their own reactions to change, ensuring they lead from a place of "Self" - characterized by qualities like calmness, curiosity, and compassion, which are crucial for navigating change effectively.
Outcome: Participants will enhance their ability to access and lead from their authentic Self, understanding how this central part of their psyche can drive high performance. They will explore how leading with qualities like curiosity, compassion, calmness, and clarity can enhance innovative thinking and inspire high performance in themselves and their teams.
Outcome: Participants will identify internal parts that might resist change or block creative thinking due to fear or skepticism. By understanding and soothing these parts, leaders will reduce barriers to innovation, allowing for more open, exploratory problem-solving sessions.
Outcome: Participants will develop skills for maintaining peak performance by identifying when and how their parts are activated under pressure. Using IFS, they'll learn to return to a Self-led state, which enhances their resilience, focus, and performance under high-stress conditions. This outcome focuses on maintaining high performance even in challenging environments by mastering emotional regulation.
